Terms of Use
Using this site means accepting what follows. It is short, because the site is a set of pages you read rather than a service you use.
Informational content only
Everything on BackupWattCache is general information for the purpose of deciding what to buy and in what order. It is not professional electrical advice, not engineering advice, not medical advice, and not a substitute for the manual that came with your equipment or for a licensed trade professional.
Where this site and a manufacturer manual disagree, follow the manual. It is specific to your unit and this site is not.
Estimates, not guarantees
Every runtime and watt-hour figure on this site is an estimate produced by a printed formula from figures published on product listings. It does not account for startup surge, temperature, battery age, or the efficiency of any specific model. Nothing here represents that any product will run any appliance for any period of time.
Product specifications are reported as the listings state them at the time of writing. Listings change without notice. Confirm anything that matters against the current listing and the manufacturer documentation before purchasing.
Safety limits that apply throughout
Nothing on this site authorizes any of the following
- Connecting a power station, inverter, or generator to a wall outlet, a breaker panel, a circuit, or any part of house wiring. That work requires a licensed electrician and a transfer switch.
- Operating a fuel-burning engine indoors, in a garage, in a basement, on a porch, or under a carport, with or without an open door.
- Opening, repairing, rebuilding, or attempting to revive a battery pack of any kind.
- Using anything described here as a plan for medical or life-sustaining equipment. That planning belongs with the equipment supplier and with your electric utility, and this site does not address it.
- Chaining power strips together or putting heat-producing appliances on one.
If something electrical in your home behaves oddly, repeats a fault, or looks wrong, stop and call a licensed electrician. That boundary applies to every page on this site.
